Does anyone have a automatic feeder that you can feed wet food in. If you do would you mind letting me know where you purchased it at, and how it works. Thank you.

Hi @Teresa & KitKat

I have used this feeder before. It was the only one for wet food that I could find. I noticed that after a while, it seemed to almost get off track and not completely rotate the internal tray when it was supposed to, so I stopped using it. Maybe I had a defective unit though?

Any programmable timed feeder works. Catmate and Petsafe are two brands. I don't recommend the Petsafe 2 compartment feeder unless the company has redesigned it. The lids on the old one I have (circa early 2000s) just hover over the trays and a cat can easily pry them open. Plus the entire feeder is lightweight and you may find the feeder elsewhere in the house upside down. Don't ask how I know :p The Petsafe 5 compartment feeder is a better choice. You can place a small gel-type ice pack under the tray to keep food cool and / or freeze canned food into portion sizes and put the frozen block into the compartments to slowly defrost. Lots of places sell feeders: pet stores (in store and online), Chewy, Amazon, etc.

Has anyone tried the new PetLibro Polar feeder? Would it keep raw food at safe temp? OR would you recommend using the Frozen Portion method with an ice-pack feeder?

My Yoshi is newly diagnosed. We are on ProZinc. Haven't started testing yet because the start-up costs are killer. BUT I've switched his diet to FF and Raw and figuring out how much and how often he wants food.

I don’t know about that feeder, but I would love to help you with your ProZinc dosing when you get to that point. Walmart sells the ReliOn Premier BG meter and they’re very inexpensive— and it’s only $17.88 for 100 test strips. That’s definitely the least expensive meter and many many FDMB members use them.

It’s great that you have made the switch to low carb. That will make a huge difference.

My cat has insurance and his insurance would pay for a meter and test strips from the vet or 1 you order. I got my meter Rel-on Premier & Reli-on test strips at walmart. I got 100 test strips today for less than $ 20.00.
