Aug 24 Sammy AMBG 275 then 306 - pancreatitus confirmed

Sammy is no better today. I got a bit of food into her again, but she has no interest in staying outside the closet today. I dont think she has had a pee or a poop in a while either. I wish that pancreatitus test would come back, I hate to think we are missing something. Sure hope she gets better soon.

ok, they finally phoned. It is a pancreatitus. Anything above 3.5 on this test is positive for p'tis and she is 3.9 . Not incredibly horrible, but we need to deal with it. She has not resolved on her own, so we are going to add a teeny dose of prednisone to try to get her over it. I know, this runs the risk of her going back on the juice, but better that than have her in pain.

She is still barely eating and drinking. That is also a concern.

Doc was talking about how good I might be at giving a pill.... I said "hello? I am an expert at giving shots!". He was so pleased to be reminded of that.... much better to inject and avoid even more tummy upset. I will head up there shortly to grab the med.

I'm so sorry to hear that Sammy has pancreatitis but as Tibbs' mom said, at least you know now what you're dealing with and can get started treating it. I know it is a rough thing on you both. Noodle had it and it was hard to keep him eating, but with the med I'm sure Sammy will feel better soon and she couldn't nave a better kitty-mom to help her. Hoping for a quick recovery for Sammy :smile: .

Thanks for the support, everyone. I know that this might, and i stress *might* mean that Sammy might fall out of remission, and I will be back to the sugar dance. I dont care. I just want her comfortable, and not in pain.

And, on that note, everyone, please join me in a happy dance. Sammy just had a drink of water, and then asked for supper.
