I have witnessed the power that the people on this board have when they send up a little prayer for someone.

Now I'm asking for a prayer.

Tomorrow morning my dad is having a very invasive surgery on his face for an extremely rare form of cancer. I'm scared.

We spent the morning together at our regular Sunday morning breakfast, he said he has had a good life and was wondering if his mother was calling him home. I sure hope not.

Whatever good thoughts, vines, vibes and prayers you could send up for him and his surgeons will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Robin

Dear Rob.
I am sending you and your Dad a million and one prayers, also sending a ton of get better vibes his way. The power of prayer and good thoughts is amazing. Please do not hesitate if you need to talk. I am here for you.

Oh dear Rob, please do not hesitate to reach out to us, if you need at anytime. I am lighting a candle right now for your dad and you. Loki and I are just sitting here together thinking of you and praying. :YMHUG:

Thanks for the hug Sue, I did what my granddaughter and I do when blowing kisses, I caught it in my hand and put it around me.

Michele, thanks for lighting a candle, it reminded me to do the same.

Thank you and Ruby for the good thoughts.

You guys are the most amazing and awesome group of people I've ever met.

Dear Robin, sending prayers for you and your Dad this morning.
Hugs,
Carl

Thank you Lyrissa, Lisa and Carl,

Dad did well during surgery but the cancer had spread more than they had expected so they scaled back on the extent of the surgery to give him better quality of life. I'm not sure where we go from here but at least he is still with me.

Thank you for the support, it means everything to me.

Robin

I am so glad he made it through the surgery. I know you will make the most of the time you two will have together, but I am so sad for you both. Hard to go through. Hugs and good thoughts.

Treasure each and every moment, my friend. Lifetimes can be lived in a moment.

Hi, Rob I am so glad that your Dad made it for the surgery, you both have been on my mind all day. Please enjoy every second you have together. I lost both my parents and miss them daily. I am so sad for you. Thinking of you and praying for you both and your courage together. :YMHUG:

I am seeing this late, but want you to know we’re sending you all the best Robin. I am sure you will cherish each moment. I wish you both courage and strength.

Hugs,

Thanks Donna and Michele, prayers are still needed and appreciated. On Friday he goes back into surgery for 8 hours for the facial re-construction. Then he should be out of the woods as far as major surgery goes.

I'm hanging in there, as the Greatful Dead would say "What a long strange trip it's been". Before the surgery I started making short video's of him at our Sunday Morning breakfast ritual, asking him to tell me his favorite stories of his life so I would have something to hold onto and be able to hear his voice. Since the surgery he has wanted to continue the video's, against my better judgement, but we'll see where it leads us.

Thanks for being here for us.

XOXO Robin

Dear Robin, keeping both of you in my heart. My mom died 3 yers ago, I love listening to her voice and watching videos. Yet, what soothes me the most are the few sentences she wrote when she was dying and what I wrote about her last few days. Holding you in my heart and arms,
Sophie

Thank you Sophie,

I know what you mean about written notes, I have all of my grandmothers hand written recipes, it makes me feel like she is there with me in the kitchen.

I've started writting what I'm going to say when the time comes (hopefully many years from now), mostly because I want it to be well thought out and not some disoriented overemotional wailing. It starts out with, the first true love in every girls life... is her daddy...

Robin

Robin,
my thoughts and prayers are with you, your dad, and family- I know all too well how hard this can be-

sending you love and light from Richmond VA- Henry said to say hello, too!

(((Robin))), I am just seeing this. I hope the surgery went well on Friday. Sending prayers and good thoughts to your Dad and to you.

Since the surgery he has wanted to continue the video's, against my better judgement, but we'll see where it leads us.

Robin, this part is truly a blessing you'll cherish forever...hugs and continued prayers...

Thank you Taisia, Marcy, Bow Huntress and Kt.

Since his second surgery has taken so much more out of him we have not done any more videos but I am very thankful for the ones I've already done.

Hey rob...ive been buried lately and am just seeing this. Hope all is well for your dad n you. Update when u can.

Update:

He's starting to get some of his strength back and is more alert, it was touch and go for a while, everyday I told him that he had to fight for his survival every day because if things stayed the same as they were he would slip away and I wasn't ready for that, the difference in him from Wednesday to Friday has been remarkable.

So tomorrow I'm going over and picking up his German Shepherd Hugo and bringing him over for a visit. I think it will do them both good to spend some time together. I've arranged for a cousin to be there to run interference if Hugo gets overly excited. Wish me luck. :-D

Great update, thanks for letting us know. Still sending prayers and good vibes his way. I am sure Hugo will be the best medicine besides you. :YMHUG:

Still sending all our best Rob. I think the Hugo visit is a superb idea. Good luck with it. Hugs and prayers...

Just seeing this - my prayers and good thoughts to you and your dad - so very hard to go thru this with anyone but esp. a parent. Take care of yourself - it's times like these when sometimes we forget to do that and you need to care for YOU too.

Best
