Hi,I just had one of my kitties in for a dental cleaning and Vet recommended that I use this product in all 6 of my cats water bowls. It is supposed to cut down on the tartar build up and keep their breath smelling better. Well their clinic label was covering the ingredients so I went ahead and bought it.Anyway,it contains sorbitol, and I was wondering if anyone knows how this effects the BG numbers for my sugar kitty. And also it contains propylene glycol, methylparaben, sodium saccharinate, propylparaben, chlorophylline cupro- sodium. All I know is,I have gotten the runs from anything with sorbitol or propolene glycol in it and one of my kitties gets diarrhea very easily. And I don't like the sound of these ingredients going into my cats water day in and day out.Anyone know about this stuff?I had thought I might buy tooth brush and paste and have a crack at brushing their teeth, just on the outsides.Anyone have any luck with doing it?

They gave me that when KT had his dental. I also noticed the sorbitol so only put it in the bowls that KT and Doc didn't drink from - none of the other cats would drink it but it didn't seem to phase the dogs. I never could tell if it did anything or not. So...I give you NO answer in all these words.... :-D

Best thing I have found thus far for dental health in kitties is just plain raw chicken wings and necks, of course you want to give them to them somewhere you don't mind a mess. Cat's teeth are designed to rip and scrap meat off bones. As long as the bones are raw they will not splinter. It is cooked bones that become brittle with cooking and can be dangerous. My cats love to gnaw on raw bones and will spend hours licking the bone marrow out of the larger neck bones.

We kind of have a rule around here, if I can't pronounce or spell the ingredient on the label without looking at the label, none of us are eating it...lol That goes for human and cat alike. Also why I cook at home so much. I trust mother nature, man made chemicals not so much.
