Ashfur AMPS 101 +3 92 return to .01 dose?

2 Last BG's at shot time are higher than I'm used to seeing.....Wondering if I should go back to the .01 dose.

Also something to mention he woke me up an hour before shot (today 7/21) eat. That could be reason for the higher BG? Usually he eats and then its 3-4 hours before his morning BG check and meal.

The concerns I am having right now are that he is so used to me feeding his curve that he expects to be fed like that still. I feel like I am feeding him too often because he wont leave me alone, for example if he was not on insulin his meal times would look very different. So I am in a bit of a pickle. he begs for food every hour, when I know he isn't hungry. He has grown used to be poked and fed (because before he needed it), where as now he could go longer between meals.

Also The day he got the 49 He was not fed at all from his +7 until the +1 (after PMPS was due) so I just ended up skipping it all together. If I had fed him like I usually do, that number would have been much different.

I wish there was an in-between from .01 to the drop (I tested it and there really is not with the syringes I am using). Because I feel like on the .01 I was literally feding him MC-HC all morning long and then on the drop its taking him forever to clear a food spike.

I NEED SOME INPUTT PLEASE

The more I think about it, the more I believe I should go back to the .01 and have a re-do and see where it takes us again. unless I am missing something, this is what I think I will do.

One more thing....Ive been feeding him fancy feast filets (salmon, tuna, chicken) - just curious if anyone has heard anything negative about these. Ive searched and found nothing.

Sorry I removed the ? because I think I have already decided to go back to the .01 dose.

Maybe I can try and feed him less and really see what happens on that dose. Before I think I over-fed him, and it pushed his lows later and later out. I don't know anything about remission numbers, but I read that we should only see numbers in the 100's here and there sparingly, so the fact that I have had 2 now, makes me nervous were going in the opposite direction.

Anyway. I really wish there was a detailed section on what to expect in these last doses, and beginning of remission. I feel very lost on what is normal and what is not. Google searches turn up information that is extremely general.

I'll just keep plucking along....

I’m following this because I’m loving your numbers…George was diagnosed around the same time so I’m hoping he follows in these footsteps!

Yes, Same time frame :) George is so sweet, THAT FACE! I hope for you both, you see some good numbers.
Ashfur's just kinda came out of nowhere, and looking back I feel disappointed in myself for being so scared to see lower numbers...I think I pro-longed this a bit with my own anxiety. My new anxiety is loosing our momentum....I'm just emotional and everyone on this site is so cool-calm-collected. LOL

I'll send my prayers to George :) Thanks for the comment.

I was exactly the same until like last month! I finally started shooting the lower numbers then on Prozinc, but he was bouncing a lot, so I just made the switch to Lantus a few days ago in hopes of leveling him out some more.

See what others say but I might want to keep Ashfur on a drop for as long as you can. Ruby was pretty close to remission for a long time. See her spreadsheet from 4/24/21 onward until she started getting sick. I was told not to take her off insulin even though she was seeing green numbers because they need to be between 50-80 for a strong remission and at that time, she was not ready and never quite got there. If I didn't have to put her on prednisolone she might be OTJ right now, but I guess my point is that you can't rush remission.

I agree about keeping him on, I appreciate any and all feedback. So thank you.... I was thinking I needed to up his dose from the drop back to the .01 because since he has been on just a drop his numbers have been higher. I think your comment also confirmed what I was thinking. I'm going to start him back on the .01 dose again in a couple days if I keep seeing BG's over 80. I am also starting him on a raw food diet. This is all super new to me also, but I think it will help with less added carbs.
