I am trying to find a lower cost food for my cats. I use binky's chart for my diet controlled diabetic cat and it happens to be low enough in ash for my other cat. He has to have low ash or he gets urinary tract infections and blockages. Anyone know of a list of low ash foods that i can compare to Binky's list?

Please understand that ash has nothing to do with UT infections and that "infections" are grossly over diagnosed since cultures are often not run to confirm if an infection is even present.

I don't know of any chart that discusses ash content but phosphorus level is a fairly decent indication of bone (ash) content.

The lower the better and, of course, do NOT feed ANY dry food unless you want another vet bill from a blocked cat....

And....be sure to add a bit of water to the 100% canned diet.

See my Urinary Tract Health page below.
