I'm just wondering if my numbers will be correct using this one as my numbers are high anyone know anything about using the one touch ultra for humans on kitty? Thanks

Most of us use human meters since the pet meter strips are so expensive.

As long as you understand what numbers you're looking for, it's fine to use a human meter. On a human meter, we're wanting them to be between 50-120 as much time as possible

@Ross's mom ,
I've always really liked the One Touch Ultra meters, have used them for over 9 years. I've tried others but keep coming back to the OTU.
I started out using the little mini version (can't remember the name!), but now use the OTU2 .

Some of the other meters use a slightly smaller blood sample though, I think. So, if the kitty is a bit of a 'turnip head' (difficult to get blood from ;) ) It may be that one of the other meters would be better. I'm guessing you're in the US? I'm sure other US folks would be able to advise you on meters that take a smaller sample if that is necessary. :) )

I used One Touches years abot but the strips just were too expensive. Also, they require 1 uL of bood while newer one only require 0.3 or 0.6 mL.

US meters that need only a small sample are Relion Confirm and Relion Micro. Strip prices are reasonable. Available from Walmart.
