Forgive me if this is the wrong thread to post this in, as I wasn't quite sure.
Our vet greenlit some much needed dental work for the rampant absorption issues Gato is having. There is very good possibility the work needed will be extensive and as such, expensive. We can afford about half of the estimate our vet gave us at this time, and may wait until we have a little more saved. However, I am eager to get the dental work completed ASAP as the vet seems to think this will be our last step to being diet regulated.
I have seen people reference Care Credit; while I like what I have ready about Care Credit it does not appear that our vet is on the list. I was looking into Scratch Pay, which our vet is partnered with, as an option. I entered a pretty high estimate - about $500 higher than the vets estimate, and they advised they usually try to estimate high as they don't have an exact idea until x-rays are completed. We were pre-approved through Scratch but I haven't signed off on the loan as of yet. It seems odd to sign off on something I do not know final figures for. I am assuming we would still only take out the amount of the final bill (or portion, as we will likely use some of our savings) and the payments would be adjusted accordingly?
I wish Care Credit was an option - it seems a bit more consumer friendly. I have always been a bit skittish of financing much of anything, so I am interested to hear if anyone here has a horror or love story involving Scratch.
