Anyone switch from vetsulin to Prozinc??

Hello! Elmo has been on vetsulin since July and is now down to .25 u 2x a day. Even at that it can crash him, causing constant monitoring here lately and leaving him lethargic most days. Going to vet on Monday, 12/19, to discuss alternatives and know they suggest Prozinc but had never used the L insulins. Wanting any insight from anyone who was first on vetsulin then changed to Pro zinc. Thanks so much in advance .

Beth, I think you got some advice from Lisa and Smokey on her thread. She is the recent person who has switched. In general, ProZinc is usually milder than Vetsulin. The onset is later so usually there is less of a drop early on and not a bounce like Vetsulin. Every cat is different so you'll have to get some data and see how he does. You might start with a little smaller dose and increase as the data indicates. Post daily and get advice if you want.
