Anyone having problems with this site last night

I'm trying to reply to someone and every time I hit post it says server error has occurred.
or it says you must wait so many seconds
I finally gave up, I see it's OK this morning so far

It's not your computer, last night was unbelievable, I just talked to others and they couldn't do anything last night on the board.
It's almost always slow , now this morning it's just slow for me
So it's not us it's the server

I had problems last night, Diane (between 4 and 5am UK time I think). Also had a glitch earlier on today (blank screen with just a message about a database or server error IIRC).

Board outages always give me the willies: my first reaction is dread that someone will have a 911 or a low-running cycle in progress and get cut off from help.

It's a rotten situation for both helper and helpee.

I don't know whether it has happened to you at all but sometimes the forum software hiccups when you try to post a reply to a thread (has done so for years), usually when your forum login session has timed out for some reason. I got into the habit of using 'select all' in the post text box and copying the contents of the post to the clipboard before hitting 'Post Reply'. Saved me a lot of grief and frustration on many occasions.

The first hint of trouble I had last night was when I tried to 'Like' a post and the forum software ignored me repeatedly. I have years-long issues with chronic insomnia so my eyes were out on stalks at the time and I wasn't sure whether it was me doing something stoopid but the board went completely haywire on me shortly after that.

Thanks, Diane. It has been an ongoing issue for over 14 years. By-product of PTSD (plus I became agorophobic and developed OCD as additional sequelae). One never gets used to it.

Hi everyone, I should have posted an update! Yes, we had a problem with our system the other night. After checking on it, I found it started around 11pm CST and lasted until around 7am CST. Thankfully we have a contract w/ a good company that hosts our site, and I was able to work with them to recover our data that had been corrupted. It was fairly straightforward but for a minute I was concerned!

Apologies for the down time, it was totally unexpected.
