Anyone have experience with fibrosarcoma?

My sister just texted me that her friend's cat, Bagheera, just received dx of a fibrosarcoma. He had a large tumor removed 2 weeks ago and the test results just came back.

Is this one of the cancers with a more grim prognosis? My sister knows about this board and I told her I'd see if anyone has ever dealt with this before.

It all depends upon the location and size. The first treatment is surgical removal. One needs complete removal with good margins to help prevent recurrence. Sometimes radiation ad chemo is used after surgical removal.

Exactly as Larry said. I had a friend of mine with a football size myxofibrosarcoma on her thigh. With surgical removal and a good margin she did not need to have radiation therapy. She still has MRIs each year but she is now at 8 year post removal with no reoccurence.
