May I ask a non-diabetic related question for my furbaby that is now in remission?
My 15 y/o guy hasn’t been eating much for the last week. I took him to the vet yesterday and they did blood work. His ALT (a liver enzyme) is elevated. Everything else was in range. Other than his potassium which was on the higher end and his sodium on the lower end. She said his thyroid numbers were good. One thing they didn’t check was pancreatic levels.
The vet prescribed my cat Baytril® (enrofloxacin)-antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. When reading the side effects, I’m kind of hesitant to give it to him.
Has anyone’s furbaby’s been prescribed this medication for elevated liver numbers?
Thanks so much in advance!
