ANSWERED Does anyone know what lancing device this is in this video?

This video seemed great, and the clear top seemed really helpful. Just curious if anyone knows which device this is and/or has experience using it. Just trying to find what might work best, don't care about cost with how important this is to get to work and why I wait for it I will just practice the sock rubbing and pets by itself. And maybe a good headband flashlight.

Thumbs up on headband flashlight, that makes it heaps easier to see a blood drop. Looks like the Abbott / Freestyle lancing device to me too, that’s what I use. You may find that the clicking sound the device makes is startling to your cat (or not) in which case, you can still hold the device and gently freehand the ear pokie.

And to also add, the starter kit (of any meter) if I recall correctly (it’s been a while :p) comes with lancing device and meter, and 50 test strips, and 10 lancets, which are what get inserted into the lancing device.

How do you feel about the device? I'm willing to spend the money, does it seem noticeably better than some of the other options if you've tried any before that one to compare?

I don’t think you’ll find much variance between lancing devices, they are all for the most part set up the same.

Agreed - all lancet devices work the same way: press button to release the lancet to quickly prick the skin. Some brands may work better than others. If one doesn't work for you, try a different brand. The lancet device does not need to be the same brand as the meter you use. Whatever you don't end up liking can be donated to another FDMB member via the Supply Closet or to Diabetic Cats In Need. I use the AccuChek Softclick lancet device. It's simple to use and hold. I've tried the AccuCheck MultiClick one before and it was too fat to hold in my small hands. The CVS generic lancet device was impossible to use. The one I tried had a part that needed to be pulled out of the top of the device, twisted, and pushed back in to re-set the lancet and then an awkwardly placed button had to be pressed to get the lancet to prick.
