Another vet update

[Hercules]

Hercules had another vet appointment today. We got gifted the alphatrax 3 meter from a loved one and the vet taught us how to use it in person today. His glucose was 120, and they didn’t tell us his ketone level but it has went down they said increasingly with every visit. We’ve decided since he’s in a pretty stabilized condition on this medication that we’re going to continue using it at this time. if anyone has any advice or anything that they think we should know in regards to our Hercules, please let me know.

Unless you want to purchase a ketone meter, you can buy Ketostix at the pharmacy. You dip the strip in your cat's urine to get a ketone reading. The color on the end of the strip is compared with the color coding on the container and tells you if there are ketones present.

Kendra - can you provide a summary of the meds that Hercules is on or any questions you have? It's easier for us to respond to your questions. I didn't see a great deal in your previous threads.
