Since Shelby's passing, I think people have been wondering if his company, Feline's Pride Raw Cat Food, would continue operating and the good news is it appears it will! They are continuing Shelby's dedication to producing a top quality raw food product for our cats.

Here is the email I received today from Dennis, Shelby's brother:

To our Valued Customers,

Many of you may already know that the demand for Natural Nutritional products for our furry little friends have increased to the point that we have exceeded the capacity of our present facility and have just completed contracting a new facility that is 8 times the size of our existing production area. On Thursday, January 13th, we will move into this new facility, which will allow us to increase our freezing capacity to handle the growth in our order volume, have more stock on hand, thus removing what has been contributing to ordering delays up to this point. In the next month we will be upgrading our web site to provide a more modern shopping experience for our customers, enhanced functionality for our distributors, and a completely new automated order fulfillment system to speed up the ordering process. Unfortunately, to make the move in-between ordering cycles some customers might experience a delay in receiving their shipments. This is a one time inconvenience which will allow us to smooth out our operations and increase our productivity and hold our costs down for you the end customer. All orders that are in the pipe-line will be shipped out on Monday the 17th to arrive by Wednesday the 19th. We want to apologize in advance for this one time only delay. We value our customers and thank you for your understanding.

Respectfully Yours

Dennis C. Gomas
Owner/CEO Feline's Pride LLC

I just talked to their production manager, Will Hepfner, and he says that if any of their customers are inconvenienced by this delay in shipment while they move, to please contact them. They will try to work something out to get a small shipment over-nighted to you if they can.

For those who are interested, their website link is in my signature.

For those who may not know, Diabetic Cats in Need is a Feline's Pride affiliate and receives a 10% commission on your purchases if you go through the link at the top right of the DCIN blog. The link to the DCIN blog is in my sig line.

If you do happen to order this way, please drop me a PM if you think of it. This is a new relationship, and I want to check that orders are being counted when I can.

I was going to check into that too Venita. I will let you know what I find out.

I use Feline's Pride to syringe feed for Gandalf and also another senior Tigget. Tigget LOVES it and she is 19 years old now and never had raw food in her life except possibly before I rescued her as a stray. Her biggest problem has always been upchucking her food if she ate too fast or too much. I was initially afraid to give her more than 1/2 an ounce because of that. But she is up to a full ounce at each feeding now and has never puked any of it!

There are testimonials on their site about cats with IBD. When I first got it for Gandalf, he was suffering pancreatitis (his fPLI was 28, when normal is no more than 3.5) and horrible diarrhea from the I/D food the vet had me give him. While I can't say it cured his pancreatitis, I can say the diarrhea stopped the very same day I gave him the first batch of Feline's Pride. I have always kept it on hand ever since and give him an ounce or 2 each day to supplement cheaper food.

I was a little worried the company would loose direction without Shelby at the helm, but I see they are forging ahead better than ever.

If every pet food company put the care in to their food that Feline's Pride does, there would not be so many diabetic cats.
