Angel SS - Not sure why GB is up and down

Hi All, can someone please take a look at Angel's spreadsheet? She went from basaglar to lantus/one unit to 1/2 because her numbers weren't stabilizing. At this point I'll continue with 1/2 unit which seems to be better. How long should I continue with 1/2? Just to explain, I switched from basaglar since she could be having a paradoxical effect/event with the generic. I have the same problem, for example if I can brand name allergy meds they do absolutely nothing, only generic meds work for me.

Thank you so much!

First a favour to ask of you. Could you put a blank line in the spreadsheet after the 11th, and write "started Lantus" or something like that on that line. It's an easier visual clue than having to scroll the spreadsheet over to the Remarks section.

OK, 0.5 units is too high a dose for Angel. Anytime a kitty goes under 68 on the AT, the dose should be reduced. 0.25 units is the new dose. What you are seeing with fluctuating numbers is her going low then bouncing high. As an aside, the 1 unit on Lantus was also too much insulin. We've seen a regulated kitty go from Lantus to Basaglar and back, and the dose was the same, the numbers very similar. You shouldn't be seeing much difference, so I rather suspect 0.5 units would have been too high on Basaglar too.

Thank you, I will change her SS. Do I just extract to .5 and push plunger in and estimate? I can’t find syringes any lower.

Here is a picture of what it looks like: from the Sticky Note on Insulin Care & Syringe Info: Proper Handling, Drawing, Fine Dosing
