Hi, I've updated angels ss. I am needing some suggestions, I realize after looking at them myself on a couple of occasions ,I should have given her more ins. ohmygod_smile But I get confused when she is in the 200's nailbite_smile
I need to know what to do when she is in,the 250-295 range as far as a dosage goes..?? She seems to do better on a sliding scale then on the same dose all the time. Because she seems to drop lower between midnight and 3:30am.
I believe she shot up so high the other night because she got to some breaded pork chop meant for another cat , and my husband didn't think fast enough..I REALLY want to get her numbers down , also she seems to function better when her nadir numbers are in the 125-150 range otherwise she gets sick and won't eat..so if I can get her preshots in the high200's and low 300's I think she might level out..?? But that's where I need some help on dosing her. Thanks !!

Also she was 452 tonight but she was starving at 7:00 pm. 1hr. Befor I checked her. and I gave her some chicken so that may account for her higher than expected number

Her ss is hard to decipher. There are times when she drops from the 400s down to blues and then back up, sometimes on .6 and sometimes on one unit. There don't seem to be many patterns. Could it be that she is getting into contraband quite often and that affects her numbers?

I'd suggest doing a curve, getting numbers every 2-3 hours and see what is happening between those reds and blues. Then maybe we can figure out a sliding scale that will work.

Hi Sue , thank you for the response, that seems to be the problem I am noticing,, I've been watching her very carefully ,and I don't think she has gotten anything except for the pork chop meat the other night, that's why I am having such difficulty with her.. She has been like this ever since we started treating her w insulin..so I took her off all dry food , seems like it haven't helped much, except now I have a skinny cat w diabetes..
