First off I am so sorry I haven't been around for a few days. What I thought was strep throat turned out to be my 3rd bout of glandular fever...rare enough to get it more than once. My boyfriend's got it now too. I was sure he would have had it and been immune, he's pretty strong. He's had it for his birthday. We both feel so sick and daren't go to my dads for Christmas as he's 90 and can't risk getting it.

Anway...I decided to pay for my little man to have a curve done at the vets as he's fedup of my lousy hme testing attempts. He was too low for insulin this morning before our appt so I took the insulin in. The vet gave him some as soon as he was over 7. For the whole of the curve he was under 7/126 and at the nadir he was 4/72. She looked at his charts and because he's only been above 8.3/150 a couple of times she suggested an otj trial. I'm cautiously optimistic. He's pretty stressed with the testing and as long as the fructosamine is ok and he's asymptomatic she suggested I don't test him for another week.

Whatever the outcome I will never again take such a long break from the board as I did previously (2 years). I will, however probably not be on every single day until I'm over the gf xxx

Fingers and paws crossed for the ORJ trial!!!:cat:

So sorry you and BF are both sick, prayers and vines that you feel better soon! :bighug:

Hi everyone, just wanted to apologise for not being around. I feel so lousy with the glandular fever, all I want to do is sleep. I've only posted Christmas cards today,I've still got presents to buy. My boyfriend Allan aka Mr Cat Food Brain (check my posts in community and off topic) is still feeling rough. We've been cooped up inside feeling lousy together and he's gone to his flat in London for a few days so we don't get on each others nerves!!! We're supposed to be going to his friends place Christmas day so he's coming to pick me up Christmas eve.

Anyway....Angel is fingers crossed doing great, his fructosamine test was fine and he seems fine in himself. I will be around to read posts and respond as soon as I'm feeling a bit stronger, I can't believe I've got this for the 3rd time, it's so rare to have a recurrence.
xx

WONDERFUL NEWS for your Kitty! :joyful:
Hope you and "Mr. Cat Food Brain" feel better soon and get to enjoy the holidays in wellness and good cheer! :woot:
