or is it affects? I can never remember.

Mr b was on amoxy for e coli in urine. Its been a few days since we stopped, and for a fewe days he has been just a little off. Especially noticeable is the lack of purring, which really makes me sad.

Anyone notice their kitty not feeling so great after a run of amoxy? He was fine on it, no upset i could see. He is eating just fine. Peeing and drinking a lot, as usual, and we're a tually having some nice yellows after a lot of pinks. So i wouldnt have expected him to seem a little less chipper than he usually is.

Also, anyone notice after a long run of high BG , that kitty feels worse after getting into a lower range? Seems counterintuitive but i'm wondering if thats a possibility?

We'll be going to the vet soon if he doesnt cheer up. That'll teach him! Lol

Hi Jen! Couple of things - I think Doc feels worse when he's in 'normal' range after a several day run of pinks....AND I wonder if he needs a probiotic to replenish the intestinal bacteria?

Glad to see someone else struggle with effect/affect.... :)

Thanks glad to hear this isnt just us! We're doing fortiflora which i know isnt the greatest but when we've tried human probiotics its overwhelming to him. Hoping this is just a phase that will soon run out.

Just a suggestion.... Herb smith makes a product called Micro flora, it has pre biotic-probiotic-enzymes and herbs to soothe the tummy. I sell tons at my store and Dre does well on it (I sometimes am rushing and then we have poo issues)
I put in a size 4 capsule and ideally give a size 4 gel cap 2x a day... Dre is big so probably 1 would do it for you :bighug:

Got an almost red amps after this nice run of yellows and guess who's purring?

Whiskey just got off amoxicyllin..I was giving him plain yogurt to try to counterbalance any killing off of good bacteria. He seemed to do fine on it. I would second the rec to get some probiotics. Hope kitty feels better soon!

Sorry I did not type correctly what is n it --it does have a pre biotic -enzymes and herbs but also a pro-biotic.
Pre biotics help repel cancer cells.
If you choose to go the yogurt-ish route you may want to try keifer instead -- it has much more beneficial bacteria and in the dairy section as well. Some yogurts (most store bought) will contain some form of sugar.
