Thank you BUT she is scaring me with her nose divesWorking the juice like the blue and green on the SS![]()
Maybe a bounce. Hang in there
She was hiding in the couch all afternoon that is why there are no numbers. She saw the kit and went into the couch where I can not get her. Last night was too much for her and her earsCertainly looks like a bounce. I would've gotten another test between the 195 and PMPS. Hard to tell if she touched green.
Thank you that is a good idea BUT I can hardly get her to eat anything She only wants to eat the hand flaked treats They are good for her I give her those in between I wish she would eat something else I have tried everythingHow do you divide up Amethyst's food? It might be worth considering "front loading" the cycle. In other words, give a portion of your kitty's meal at +1, +2, and +3 for example. This may help to soften some of the drops that look like they are occurring in the early part of the cycle.

I saw that note in your SS and wasn't sure what it meant. Now I knowHi Thanks Last night was too much for her and her ears She was hiding in the couch all afternoon where I could not reach her![]()
I would moisten the treats but it just seemed easier to take a pinch out of the FF tray. Plus some freeze dried treats would get too powdery at the end.
Hi She ran into the couch when she saw the kit Her ears are so redwonder is that was a wonky reading, or massive bounce..... I agree if it's a bounce than she must have had a low number.... I think it was Wendy's Neko who used to hide when he first got low BG....

I use FF naturals chicken as Beenie's treat (other flavors too). She goes nuts for it. I open the container and take a pinch out as a treat and put the opened container in a snack size zip lock bag and keep it in the fridge. I was giving her freeze dried treats but she was having trouble with them being too dry and she would sometime choke. I've bought some that the pieces had ridiculously sharp edges.I would moisten the treats but it just seemed easier to take a pinch out of the FF tray. Anyway my point is try something different just to switch things up. I know Amethyst is picky but if she likes the hand flaked treats she may go for the FF naturals. I notice that I have to switch up the treat (flavor) occasionally. I do it as soon as she starts walking away from me when its time to test or is too frigidity. It works every time. I give her a new flavor and she comes to me before I even sit on the floor for test time. I think our kitties from time to time get a little tired of the pokes. Its understandable. You'll find something new for her. Even deli meat, without garlic/onions etc. I've even given Beenie a teeny tiny minuscule piece of cheese and boy does she like that.
Its trickery I say...outsmarting the felines

@Pamela & Amethyst --
Make sure if you want to use deli meat as an option that it's not brined -- some turkey and chicken may be soaked in a sugar/salt mixture before it's cooked. Also, no garlic! It can cause blood disorders in cats.
Will Amethyst consider eating if you mix some of the salmon treats into her food? I'm assuming you've tried feeding her fish flavored foods. (Although, a steady diet of only fish isn't particularly great.) What foods have you tried? What did she eat before she was diagnosed?
If she likes salmon, she may like "stinkier" food. (I find that ZiwiPeak to be particularly stinky.) Another option may be raw. Since so many of the low carb foods are pate, it may be a textural thing. Weruva (e.g., Paw Licken Chicken) is in shreds so it's a different texture than pate. Whether you try for raw or something like Weruva, I'd contact the manufacturer (Darwin's is a good commercially prepared raw) and see if they'd send you a sample given how picky Amethyst is. There's no point in getting a big order if she turns her nose up. Most companies are pretty understanding about cats being picky and stubborn!
Okay Thanks She likes HoneyYou can always add syrup (Karo, maple, etc.) into her usual food if you need something HC. It sounds like they are eating if you mix the Pure Bites into their food? As long as they are getting regular cat food in addition to the mixers, they should be fine.
