I saw yesterday you thought she might have a UTI. Do you have any d-mannose or can you get to a health food store and buy some? Or a drugstore? When Furball had a UTI she was peeing everywhere and looked like that. The d-mannose helped her quickly even when I didn't have an antibiotic to give her. It comes in capsules, but you can open them up and mix 1/4 of a teaspoon in her food and give it to her a couple of times a day. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh, your poor little girl! I hope you are able to get her some help soon-- UTIs are very fixable, but oh do they make them miserable when they are going on!

Hope you are on the way to dr. If you can get a cup under her for a urine sample, you can give it to Dr, one less thing for them to do.

THank you Carla That makes me feel better I was very frightened to see that She has NEVER done that before. Thank you for the suggestions but she and JoJo will not eat any food that I try to put something in and we know it is important for her to eat:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sounds like Amethyst is off to have a culture and sensitivity test. They will likely stick a needle in her bladder to get a clean urine sample. Cystocentesis. Then the sample is sent to a lab to see what type of bacteria grow. That can take a while.

In the meantime, Amethyst should be on a broad spectrum antibiotic. An antibiotic like Clavamox or something similar is usually prescribed. The vet should know what to prescribe.

Once they know what specific bacteria is causing the issue, they will prescribe a more specific antibiotic.
Sometimes the reason for the UTI can not be found. That is called idiopathic. No known reason.
Antibiotics may not always help with a UTI

Sending lots and lots of healing vines for Amethyst, and lots and lots of hugs for you, Pamela. Prayers, too.

I'm sure you've already thought of this, but can't they give her a shot or something else for the pain till her meds arrive?
