Am I ok just feeding FF fish pate?

Hi to everyone!
My Patch was off the juice for about a good year but on Tuesday I got the blood results that he's back to being diabetic. We moved to a new state and new doctor so we are starting fresh with Prozinc at 1unit twice a day.

My question is about fancy feast pate. Patch loves the fish cans and he's not wanting to eat other flavors. If I just feed him the fish cans is he still getting a good diet? Or should I try find other ways for him to eat other flavors?
 
Hi there! Sorry about the relapse.

He needs to eat things other than fish. The problem with fish is twofold - the first you've already discovered, once they have it they usually don't want anything else. And a diet consisting of fish isn't exactly "balanced". The second issue is mercury.

Thank you for the advice! I will definitely add other foods to his diet.
On my way home from the vet I cried. Deep down I was hoping his diabetes was in the past but it's all good. Patch and I got this!
I also have to give a big thanks to this forum and everyone that's part of it. I don't know what I would do without this group.
So thanks for your advice again!

aaaww, im so sorry for u n Patch:( Obviously he is in good and experienced hands! Here's hoping all good things for you two!
