AlphaTrak2 vs. ReliOn AMPS

I am seeing such a big difference between the two BG meters. Roo's AMPS on AlphaTrak is 334 versus ReliOn 189. I shot her with 0.5 unit but wondering what her PMPS dose should be tonight. I know the ReliOn runs lower but that's a pretty big difference. Should I trust the AlphaTrak more so? Should I keep her a little longer on the 1/2 unit or up her dose to 0.75 unit or maybe even head back up to 1 unit? I'd tend to think to trust the AlphaTrak more when I use it. Hoping the new syringes come today too!

The difference in meter reading will be large at higher numbers but much closer at low numbers. You'll go crazy using both and second guessing every BG test. Choose one and stick with it. Put the other away. As long as you know the OK range and too low range on the meter you're using, you can make good dosing decisions. Most people here use a human meter because of the very high cost of AT test strips so they can understand the readings those give and can advise accordingly.

Little Roo's dose should probably go up to 0.75 u when you get your syringes.
