Hi everyone, I finally have a chance to get back here. My husband had a mild stroke on Sunday due to his medication. He has never had a problem before, but again, never lived in this altitude. He is expected to make a full recovery, thank God. Daily trips to the hospital to get his meds regulated though. Luckily, he filled several syringes on Saturday for me when he started to feel poorly. Alley is stressed a bit, his numbers are pretty regularly in the pink again, just can't adjust any insulin right now, not knowing how long in the day I could monitor him. Other than that, I just have to remember to take it slow, hubby is such a huge help with the cats, now it is all on me for awhile. He is already feeling better. A little confusion is all, he thinks the reason he cannot answer the Jeopardy questions is because of this episode, but he couldn't answer all of them before anyway! Geez!
Hope everyone is doing ok, will update when I get a chance.

Oh, my, I'm glad your hubby is doing OK. You sound like you're handling it well! Tell him you'd worry more if he suddenly could answer all the Jeopardy questions!

Alley will be OK too.

Pam-I included you and your husband and Alley in my prayers today.
I have a feeling all be will better faster than you think.

Hi Pam,

(((hugs))) for you and DH and Alley....So glad to read that things are on the mend!

Alley will be okay until things settle down for you all...better to be too high for a few days than too low for a minute, right?!

Hang in there!

Pam, I am so sorry your hubby is having these health problems. I am glad to hear he is on the mend though. Don't worry about Alley, he will get back on track soon enough. Please keep us updated okay?

Thank you so much, all of you, for your kind thoughts and prayers. Although still not quite regulated in his medication, it is not far off and he feels just fine. We were lucky. He has been on this medication for 13 years and has never had a problem, and we took that for granted.
Alley has been by his side the whole time. Cats are so aware, they hear ultrasounds, so says my Snapple cap! When Alley first came to us almost 13 years ago, it was right after my husband was diagnosed with DVT and this cat layed on his bad leg for days on end. His warmth and purring sensation helped so much with the circulation. the doctors were amazed.
So all is well and I am happy to get back to "normal".

Now, back to our kitties...
All the best,
Pam & Alley

Pam, interesting about Alley laying on your DH's leg and the purring sensation helping with the circulation.

Not long ago I ran across this article on why cats purr and what you said reminded me of it. The whole article is interesting but at the bottom she talks about the possible healing properties of cats purring. I thought you and your hubby would enjoy reading it. :)
