Hi all
My diabetic kitten has a lot of allergy. We have done allergy tests, and everything has gone negative.
The problem is that she has many itching, and wounds in her belly. But the worst is her mouth. She has 2 indolent ulcers that grow ...
I have tried all the proteins, and when she has no symptoms on the skin, she has in the digestive system. She takes 15 days with Lypex.
the vererinaria proposes Apoquel, active ingredient Oclacitinib, an immunomodulator. Anyone have experiences?
Thank you very much for the help, and sorry for the translation
Hugs

Poor Cuki. My Willow also has allergies (she is not diabetic). She takes Zyrtec every day. Recently, she had bumps come up all over her neck, and the vet gave her a round of Temaril P which cleared it up, and it has not yet returned. Temaril P includes a very low dose of steroids. I had refused steroids up until that point, but it finally reached a point where I decided it was necessary, and I am glad I did it.

I have no experience with Apoquel. I have heard it is often given for itching. I hope you find something that works for Cuki.

Hello!
Zyrtec takes it one of my diga!
It is a pity that there are no medicines to relieve these symptoms to diabetic kittens ... she has a really bad time ... apoquel they say it does not work in cats, but it is the only thing they offer me. His mouth is very bad!

thank you!

Martas, I'm so sorry that your kitty is having such a bad time. I hope you can find something that will give relief to Cuki. :bighug:

We couldn't find my civie's cause either but slowly I changed kitty litter, gave him filtered water, removed chicken from his diet, and switched to Weruva from Fancy Feast and they slowly disappeared. He would have a runny nose all the time, snot coming out, sneezing, diarrhea, and over grooming to the point his whole belly was bald. It's not easy but hopefully you can find the cause. I never resorted to any meds.

We have been allergic for 4 years ... I have tried all the proteins, changed litter, water, everything ... so it is possible that it is something environmental with some intolerance
I did the allergy tests, and Cuki gave everything negative!
thank you!

For the foods you tried with new proteins, did you check the ingredients on the can to make sure they did not include other proteins? When I was looking for a new food for my cat who has allergies to chicken and beef, most of the foods that said they were a different protein still had chicken or beef when I actually looked at the ingredients :banghead:

We had a cat with terrible skin allergies, it turned out to be she was sensitive to the flea and tick medicines we gave the dogs, and maybe the heartworm treatments, too. We were not putting it on her, only the dogs, but the residues evidently were in the dog's dander enough that it affected her.
So it might not be what she's eating, it could be coming from something else in your house.
