Last night she started blue then went yellow and this morning is pink. Blahhhhh. Bring it back down Meowliss!

In other news, I think I would like to search for reasons my civie cat is so food-motivated!! Any thoughts? Point me in a direction to study? He’s the youngest and also the most overweight and I always expected him to be the one to become diabetic. I’d like to actually prevent that. He also has allergies, to fleas, to Seresto collars, to I don’t know what, almost always has a dirty bum, he’s just not all okay. He gave himself herpes from the other cat because I couldn’t stop him from sneaking into her food.
I think he is getting a hot spot again and I need to have him in to the vet, but these days I feel like I’d like to go in better prepared. :p I don’t know if I should bother with the FVCRP (or whatever it is?) vaccine either..... he is on a 3 year rabies right now.
This is probably more of a main health post but I’m babbling on Alice’s thread instead.
 
one thought -- I notice when cats are constantly hungry but NOT diabetic, that there's something going on in their innards
are your civvies getting probiotics? pumpkin? vitamin C or ACV in their water maybe?
reminds me of how I feel when I'm not getting enough vitamin D or B -- or short on magnesium .. when it's hot, and I'm out in the sun, I lose electrolytes
also, sometimes I feel "hungry" when I'm really verging on dehydration -- your civvie may need more water in his food
 
How about testing for food allergies? As far as dirty bum, it could be he just can't reach it to clean. Ollie is that way.

Have you tried revolution spot treatment instead of collars?

Yes we normally use Revolution, he’s over the 15 lbs cat dose though so I need to add a kitten dose and I am out of kitten doses.

Besides testing for food allergies via trying different novel proteins, is there any actual affordable allergy testing? Could a food intolerance make him always hungry? He was weight maintained until neutered. He wasn’t always mine, he was about a year? or two old when I got him.

of course there's always a good time to puff diatomaceous earth into her fur, any time she will stay dry -- no problem if she licks it, though avoid having her inhale the dust .. it kills mites and fleas by basically desiccating them -- doesn't kill the eggs, only the mature biting nasties
 
@JoyBee&Ravan one cat is currently living outside (she doesn’t want to come in). The one that is allergic though never ever goes outside and I had to treat his room back then even though he was separated from everyone when he first came to stay with me and then we decided he would stay forever, and....... I honestly don’t know. We get the occasional mouse, so maybe they are getting fleas from mice when that happens. I just kind of think he needs to be treated every year spring through fall (in Oklahoma). Once his skin gets triggered he won’t stop licking certain parts of it so he has short, blunted fur on half his body. :( And he always wants to eat. Now that Alice is more stable I know I need to get back to work on his issues some but I’m not really sure what direction to go and can’t afford to waste a vet trip without an idea of direction!
Also......... I don’t think it would ever be possible to get him into a bath, quite frankly. :(
