Hi! Would someone please analyze my spreadsheet and give advice on what you think Claire needs/anything we need to be doing differently. I truly appreciate your input. - Myra

Are you feeding between tests?

Yes, our schedule:
830am- Test
830-930am- Feed
930am- Put any remaining food away
1130am- Test
1130-6pm- Put out any remaining food and another container of food
6pm- Put any remaining food away
830pm- Test
830-930pm- Feed
930pm- Put any remaining food away
1130pm- Test
1130pm- Put out any remaining food

She is eating 3 containers a day.

Here's your previous post for continuity / history - https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/feeling-overwhelmed.246574/

Have you switched 100% to low carb wet food? I see in the last thread you were feeding DM dry.

FWIW it helps people viewing your SS, to write what and when you fed in the remarks column (it may also help you if you need or want to tweak anything food-wise). You can see my SS as just one example.

Yes, I have switched to 100% wet food and note when I did that at the top of the sheet and also in the remarks section.

Is this what you are feeding I did a search on the forum and saw/a member posted
this

MEOW MIX Pate Toppers

Chicken w/Shreds of Chicken
9 carb

Whitefish w/Flakes of Salmon
8 carb

Salmon w/Flakes of Tuna

8 carb

Whitefish w/Flakes of Tuna

8 carb

Most of us feed Fancy Feast Classic Pates , they are 2 or 3 percent carbs, I think the fish flavors are 0 carbs. Here is the food chart

Oh I see it now at the top of your SS - I was recommending including the time/amounts for your feedings in the remarks column for each day (ie the column after PMPS +11). Glad you’re kitty is enjoying the wet food.

And are you asking if you’re kitty needs insulin now that you’ve switched food? If so, it does look that way IMHO.

great job testing and gathering data

We consider low carb to be less than 10% carb so what you're feeding Claire is fine. Some cats are very carb sensitive. if you want to get a couple of cans of Fancy Feast to see if it makes a difference, that may be a reasonable experiment.

Based on Claire's spreadsheet (SS), she's in diabetic numbers. Normal blood glucose (BG) is 50 - 120. It's looking like she's going to need insulin despite the change to a lower carb diet.
