Today taking my cat's BG I pricked myself and we were both bleeding.

I of course washed w/soap and water and then poured some peroxide on my own cut.

I know this has had to happen to others, is there any special cleaning instructions that you might give for when this happens.

I am, of course, concerned about possible bacteria, virus, etc. from my cat that could transfer to me. :(

The good news is, his BG was 111. No insulin or dry food for several weeks.

I usually test myself....is that weird or what?
Haha! No that isn't weird because after he tested at 111 I thought what if I tested myself by mistake, so I then tested myself and I was 141, lol

It's a little nerve wracking to be swapping blood...bacteria's, etc.

I've poked myself dozens of times. It's had very little effect on me, as you can see-

Oh my gosh- thought it was just me! I poked myself several times and didn't realize it until later when I saw blood on my finger and didn't know if it was mine or Leo's. I was excited to see my glucose at a nice 85 until I realized it was Leo's! Mine was a lot higher.

Today's the day I was going to organize my sharpies, two MaxxScoops of syringes and lancets. And a dozen half used bottles of insulin, at least a dozen of Noah's BUPE syringes. I just yanked at least 50 pounds of litter from the basement. The garbage men love us, how can 2 people put out 4 Glad Bags of crap? It's amazing I don't have a syringe hanging from my ankle right now. Need to get some of those chain-mail gloves.
