advice, concerned

Hello my sugar baby Wyatt has recently switched from Vetsulin to Prozinc. We started at 1U but due to his weight loss and numbers bumped him to 1.5 after a week, then to 2U after another week. His clinical signs are getting worse and worse. He's become rabid with the water again and about 7 pounds we can't have him lose any more weight. Please advise. I'm doing a curve today! @FrostD

Couple of things:
- Please feed him as much as he wants to eat, as long as it's low carb.
- Is his appetite good? Or does me maybe seem nauseous, or not really eating much at all?

Have you considered the MPM dosing method? I may have mentioned it to you before, sorry if that's the case. But I think Wyatt would benefit from increasing the dose more quickly to help him get into better numbers more quickly. BUT, and this is a big BUT, it requires much more testing to keep him safe.

You did see some nice blues early on, so I'm thinking today's curve may actually be bouncing, and therefore not a wholly accurate picture of how low he's going. Regardless he still needs an increase, you can go up to 2.25U.

Can you try to get +4/+5 tests every day? Or every night if you're not home during the day?

Can you also change your signature to say ProZinc please?

Yes, we feed him all of the time LOL and he has a great appetite, thankfully!

No, the MPM dosing method would not be feasible since we work during the week.

Thank you for affirming my thoughts about the dose increase, will do that starting tonight.

I will aim for a =4/+5 test today and tomorrow since I can, and then nightly during the week.

Changed my signature.

I would check with the vet then. If his appetite is good and his weight is still so low, there may be other things going on. Ideally once he's regulated he'd gain weight again. Or, it may be better to get him on high calorie foods and increase his dose to offset the carbs... unfortunately I'm really not sure.

Mr Kitty got down to about 10 lbs at his worst, but now I've got him back up to 13/14 which is his ideal weight, and he's still not regulated
