A thank you

I want to tell this site thank you for making a difference. Let me tell you my story: My Tuxedo was diagnosed FD a month ago, so I came here. I work at a vet's office so I have access to a lot of information, but I found this site to be most helpful. Reading other peoples experiences and finding out about home monitoring was so beneficial. I went to work and showed the veterinarians how I did a curve at home and that we needed to adjust his insulin. They were most impressed and it got them thinking. Around the same time, a client's cat was diagnosed FD. I overheard my boss discussing home monitoring with her, and sure enough she is doing it now. (he referred her to this site) And she is doing curves at home and her cat is really going to benefit. He is already doing much better. So, long story short is I feel grateful to this site for opening many eyes, and to my Tuxedo for contributing; because of him and you, many, many more cats will be better cared for in the future. This brings me comfort even when I lost my Tuxedo. Thank you again.
Jana

Jana, I didn't know you had lost Tuxedo till I went back and saw your earlier post. I am so sorry you were not given more time to love on him and you have my deepest sympathy. In the short time on this board you learned enough to pay it forward in memory of Tuxedo and it will help so many other kittes with the knowledge you will share. My heart goes out to you on the loss of your beloved Tuxedo.

I'm very sure that Tuxedo is very proud of his mommy bean... In the short time you fought this battle with/for him to live.. All that you learned has already started helping other kitties who are loved as much as he was. My heart cries with yours at your loss of such a magical cat.

Dear Jana,

I am so very sorry that you lost your Tuxedo boy. He will always live on in your heart, and at least you did find this site and through what you already have done, you have made a difference in other peoples' lives with their diabetic cats.

None of our dear furbabies ever passes on without the pain that we suffer, but they are always here for a reason, and through their lives and the time we are given with them, whether it is a long time, or a brief time, they touch our lives in so many ways, and for this, I am always grateful.

My tuxedo boy died on August 8, 2009 at only 5 years old, and he has been the hardest loss that I have had to deal with, because he was so young and full of life. He had a urinary blockage and other health problems. So, these tuxedo cats are such a treasure, but I am still grateful that he was in my life for those few short years.

I hope that your heart will not feel as heavy over time, and you will remember the 'good' days that you shared with your sweet Tuxedo.

((((HUGS)))),
