My buddy Hootie was diagnosed with leukemia (cancer, not feline leukemia) a month ago and I had to put him to sleep this afternoon. He was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years ago by a vet who said an option to treatment was to put him down. I came home and found this wonderful board and learned that it's no more scary to treat feline diabetes than it is to treat human diabetes, that feline diabetes was NOT a sudden death sentence. Because of that, I want to thank all of you for giving me two more years with my buddy. I've lost count of the people I've referred to this board. All said this community was helpful. Know that all of you are special for the care you give your furbabies, and that your input here is greatly appreciated.

RIP Hootie, and bless all of you and your furbabies. I wish you much time with them.

How lucky Hootie was to have you, and vice versa. How wonderful that you were able to treat his diabetes for two years I am sorry that cancer stole the remainder of your time together :(

May your memories bring you comfort. The bond between a Sugar Kitty and their parent is definitely something special.

Best,
Sandi.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was so lucky to have you be his caretaker and advocate. Until you meet again enjoy your fond memories of him.

I'm so sorry it was Hootie's time to go to the Bridge. I hope your wonderful memories of the time you spent together can help your heart to heal. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Fly free, sweet Hootiecat_wings>o

What a great cat parent you were to Hootie. Eighteen years is a nice long life, but it is always hard to let them go.

May your sweet kitteh fly freely, and land safely at the Bridge. He was loved, and he knew it.:rb_icon:
