For some reason, all of a sudden I realized that i had been misreading the lines on the syringe wrong.
i have not been giving Buddy .30 u, but giving him 1.30
i'm not sure what the consequence of this is...other than to say he's not progressing as i thought he was (getting closer to otj). :YMSIGH:
i wonder if I have been overmedicating him all along, (good thing i test often),or is it a totally harmless accident?
so just to be sure, can someone please confirm that the first line on the monoject short needle is nothing,
the second one is .50u, third is 1u? I feel totally foolish, and hope i am not the first person this has happened to :?:

Hi Marci,
I am sorry that happened. I am using Monoject 1/3cc for U100, short needle with half-unit marking and it looks the same as Shiela's photos. Are you using the ones with half-unit marking as well? Then I think the fist line is zero, the second one is .5 and the third is 1u as you said. Buddy seems to be doing fine with that dose, tho ;-)

thanks...guess the biggest drawback to this mistake is the SS is useless now, have to start from this past w eek in terms of acuarcy of dosage.

Just make a note in your SS - or change your numbers? How far back do you have to go? Have you been off by 1u the whole time? ohmygod_smile

Well, at least it gives you many more increments to decrease him

well thats a nice perspective! i'm just not sure how far back i would need to go.
i changed the #'s for the last 2 weeks. where on the SS should i note the mistake?

Just make a note at the beginning of where you changed it. Something like:

From this day BACKWARDS the dose .3u is really 1.3 units

And maybe add the same note back where you started .3u? But has you dosing been off by 1u the whole time? Really, the past 2-3 months are enough for seeing a pattern. You know you can insert a row above at any place, then select it all and merge it into one box, change the background color and add your note? I have done that where I stopped the day by day date for Beau and only enter the date of the day I test him. And also the top line on=f his SS where I lost all his vetsulin data, except I didn't change the background color.
