I have finally found a wet food that my cat started to enjoy and brought her levels down to normal, which was wellness. With the recall, I replaced the wet food with Spa Classics by Blue, but it has made her levels worse....Can anyone suggest a good replacement? The Blue grain free she will not touch, she would rather go hungry.

mine eat fancy feast classic chicken and classic chicken and liver
we recently had to move back to these because patches went up with the petsmart brand.
they also eat the fancy feast turkey and giblets.

i know alot on here feed evo

hope this helps!

We have the same problem. The "new" Wellness caused Tiggy's blood sugar to go up.

We are now using Fancy Feast Classic -- Chopped Grill and Liver & Chicken Feast
(the turkey and liver causes higher BGs so it's formula has changed from Janet & Binky's list)

We are experimenting with other foods like:
EVO 95% chicken & turkey, venison
Merricks Cowboy Cookout, and a couple others on Janet & Binky's list as low carb
Friskies Supreme Supper and a couple other pate style (ditto - I'm cautious here because one of my civvies tends to puke on Friskies foods)
BFF tuna & chicken (we try to limit seafood or we'd try more of these)

We get really tired of popping the tiny 3 oz FF cans -- with 4 cats, usually 12 to 14 cans per day

Giving serious consideration to making food at home - which requires investing in freezer & grinder

I would also recommend the BG line from Merrick. The chicken, beef and chicken/quail varieties are all under 2% carbs. Willie seems to like them quite well!

agree - another one that we bought is Merrick's BG (before grain)

tonight we're trying the 96% turkey...

Some stores may have two different Before Grain lines: the old 100% meat or seafood only one that is a supplement and the new 96% meat or seafood nutritionally complete ones. The labels for both are exactly the same, just with a different % number.

The old 100% ones are no longer being made but some stores may still have them. Just be careful if you buy Before Grain and double check the label.

Innova EVO and Nature's Variety Instinct are good choices to feed  So is GO! Natural http://petcurean.com/index.php?page_id=187

Hmmmm....this is interesting. Since the recall, Trixie's numbers have gone up, too. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out why. Now I wonder if it's the "new" Wellness.

Looks like I'm goin' food shopping tomorrow!

Thanks everyone. I think I will try the BG by Merrick. I am a little skeptical to try the Fancy Feast, until I can see the label and it says low carb.

pretty much NONE of the labels say Low Carb -- which is why we've got Janet & Binky's food charts.

Fancy Feast CLASSIC flavors are the lower carb options - we use Chopped Grill and Liver & Chicken Feast the most.
