I want to get her set up with syringes and supplies she needs and I will be showing her this site and the "ropes" as it were.

The syringes I can get without scripts form Hocks.com or Health Wharehouse online

I took her to WM and she acquired the mini Relion and strips..talk about cheap..wow!

Now comes the insulin. Is it still available from Canada? I will be suggesting Levemir pens. I think pens are good for obvious reasons including they insulin shakes less during shipment....which brings me to this..

since everyone is so gentle in handling insulin why are then not concerned about it come all the way from Canada and who knows how is is handled. My local Pharmacist sells pens for about $150.00

Thanks for your help.

FYI: You now need a prescription to get insulin from Canada. and I believe you want it shipped with cooling inserts. See the sticky on insulin from Canada.

As to why shipping doesn't mess it up; maybe it does sometimes. Glucose testing may show how the dose is working and may need tweaking if it is more or less potent. Any time you open a new vial or pen, you want to watch for that issue anyway, as the tail end of a vial or pen may be just a bit less potent than a fresh one.

Ask how the package is labeled - ex "FRAGILE - DO NOT DROP", etc. Package labeling may affect the end result.
