I've been hanging around for about a month now and have been giving insulin to Alex for 3 weeks, but in reading other posts, I do have a couple of questions.

#1) I read where people are told to give it 3 or 4 cycles. Does that mean 3 or 4 shots (when you're shooting twice a day) or does that mean 3 or 4 days, or something else entirely?

#2) I've seen lots of spreadsheets where the doses are .2, .4, etc. What kind of syringes are you using to be able to shoot that little? I'm shooting 1.25 units right now and can't imagine how I could possible for able to tell the difference between .2 and .4.

well to be honest, it is hard to tell the difference between .2, .3, .4. The best way to do it, is to make sure you have syringes with 1/2 unit markings, then when you are dosing these . numbers, you eyeball and say, ok just a smidge past the line is x dose and that's what you call it, then you do your best to be consistent with getting to that same place again for the next injection.

Yes, it's hard and somewhat of a guessing game. The main point of these .whatever doses, is that you are giving less than what is marked on the line and consistency is key. I found even a smidge more or less made the BG's change.

hope this helps.
