Charlie seems to be back in a bounce. Could this be triggered from us shooting potentially too low last night?

I'm also curious as to why over the past few days Charlie's numbers look good during the day and she bounces at night. Any logic to this?

I don't have any answers on the higer numbers, but I hope Charlie comes down for you soon.

The higher #s that you're seeing could be the cause of the 0.5ml of maple syrup that you gave her 2 nights ago on 09/06. Sometimes, it takes a bit for a kitty to clear the bounce because of it. I would've done the same thing by giving the regular dose last night. The bounce will clear... It'll take about a day or 2 for it to do so. Don't get discouraged with the higher #s. It'll clear up. The good thing that I noticed is that her AMPS # this morning is slightly lower than yesterday morning's PS #. It's a good sign! Keep up the excellent work!

I think it's a bounce. Look at how Charlie reacted to the greens the other day , big spike to a red.
Her liver isn't used to it and reacts/panics.
Hopefully she'll have a nice slide today.

Don't sweat those pinks, Jill. There's a good chance Charlie dipped lower after that (+4) and before that (+7) yesterday in the AM-cycle. Most likely, she's just bouncing a bit. But it's not a bad bounce, and hopefully she'll clear it quickly.

Hi Jill!!

Glad to see that Charlie got into some green for you. To answer your question about why she might be lower in the day and higher at night.....I dunno ;-) ;-) Seriously, it just depends on when they clear the bounce, how much and how fast they come down, and when the liver decides to toss out those counterregulatory hormones that bring the numbers back up.

One thing I would suggest.....I don't think I would have given her syrup if I needed to go out. The reason is because the syrup/honey is a quick fix....it's to bring them up quickly but it also wear off fast. If I wanted to be sure she was going to be safe over a longer period of time, I would have given MC or HC food that would have stayed in her system longer. Also, I don't think the syrup really contributed much to where her numbers went afterwards. If you look, she was already on the way up at PMPS because she was starting a bounce from the blues.

Hope you are doing better!!

Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like Charlie is starting to clear her bounce now as her numbers are going down, right as we're about to go to bed. I hope she'll be OK tonight. Will try to set my alarm to wake up at least once to test her. Also we'll leave out extra food (LC though as that's mainly what we have at home right now).

Will go out and buy more HC and MC ASAP. We do have 1 can of HC but she doesn't like it. It's the kind we need to force feed with a syringe.

Any advice for those of you in Europe for what qualifies as MC or HC (specific brands or flavors)?
