All things considered, these numbers aren't horrid. Lab results showed trace blood in his urine, so the vet is prescribing Doxycycline for 30 days. He said he's not convinced that there is kidney involvement, although it's a possibility. He feels that the cystitis has been present for quite a long time and needs a long term course of AB in order to resolve. I had hoped for a negative result, but I'm not discouraged by this turn of events. I wonder why all the lab work from the previous vet always came back totally negative....hhmmmmm. Everyone enjoy the day.

Hi guys .. sorry to hear gus needs to be on AB's for so long, but I know you are going to take good care of him and he will be back to 100% in no time! That's a nice drop at +2, over 100 points .. looks like gus has plans today! Have a great day guys!

Good that someone found it--The AB's usually clear it up in a matter of weeks, hope it works quickly for GUS!! Then he will show you great numbers!!--Have a good Tuesday! Hugs from us!

Good morning! Glad you got the meds for Gus. Isn't it funny how one vet finds it and one doesn't? I have always been confused by that.

Hope you have a great day! Nice decrease at +2.

Gus is one of my favorite furry dudes!!! Doxycycline is a powerful antibiotic so if you notice any change in appetite, etc., don't be hesitant to mention it to your vet!!

My sister says "horrid" all the time and it always cracks me up. She says she uses it because it has more of an impact than "horrible."
