We've been absent for a few days, taking a much needed break. I've decided that, in order to preserve my sanity, I need to just pretend that Champ and I are at the beginning of this damn sugar dance. His spreadsheet lately looks like it did at the very beginning, meaning it looks like the insulin isn't doing much good, except on rare occasions. Ever since Champ got over his stomach bug, he's had very rare greens, a few blues, lots of yellow, a fair bit of ugly pink, and too many disgusting reds, all the while increasing his insulin from a low of 0.5u to a current 1.5u. I'm going to be aggressive with the increases just like I was at the beginning...every six cycles unless he gives me a reason to give him some extra time. I ain't messin' around!!

sounds like a great mindset. it's just going to take as long as it takes - what's really great is that champ is doing so much better than when you really did start! and you know so much more about how to treat him and keep him safe. perhaps he just needs a little nudge upwards to get him headed back down.

i hope this is just the right thing for him.

and we missed you this weekend. i noticed you were online a couple of times but no champ condo, and thought maybe you were traveling or busy. glad to see you today!

Well Champ is showing you on his +4. :lol: He must have read his condo. Poor Champ. So misunderstood.

Hi Patty, I noticed you and Champ were missing here a few days and glad to see you back. I like Champ's +4! Hang in there; it can get frustrating at times. Hugs and scritches to Champ.

Patty, I need to borrow your mindset! I, too have been a frustrated lately with Simon's numbers not being as good as when he first started on the insulin and even with a less dose. I think Champ may be reading your mind with the +4. Hope he keeps up the better numbers the rest of the day.

Hey Patty my dear!!!

I wondered where you and Champers went to. Good to hear that you're both well, and sucky to hear that Champ has had a few dose increases, not to worry.....you aren't the only one!! Leo's had 2 dose increases in the past week or so.............. :roll: What can ya do?!?! The kitties are in control and I guess we're just along for the ride aren't we? :lol:

Yep, we're on the increase train, too! Maybe it's some crazy seasonal thing.

I'm glad to see you're OK...I almost opened a "Where's Patty and Champ" condo today, then I saw this one!
