BbB!
She had a real nice stretch there after bumping back up to 5 units. Hoping she comes down soon.
I started her on gabapentin today. Gave her about 1/3 of a 100 mg capsule. It seemed like a success! I didn't notice her zonked out like she had previously been on higher doses of gabapentin. When she jumped up on my chest today the fur on her backside seemed to not wiggle as much. I was even able to get some tufts out back there. Too soon to know for sure, but i'm pleased with some potential progress. Anything I should watch out for with gabapentin? I plan on giving the same amount twice a day and adjust the dose as needed once she's had some time on this one. I've read that if you stop gabapentin, you need to ween off the dose or there can be serious withdrawal effects.
I hate having on this for the rest of her life, but if it eases her discomfort it seems worth it. Does anyone know if cats build up tolerance to this stuff in the long-term?
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
