Hi Lantus Land Friends,

Racci is doing fine this morning, and her usual hungry self after a green night. I can't believe how much she wants to eat when she's green! Last night she ate after her shot, about 12, then about 3, 5, 7.5, 9, 11 and then after her shot again about 11.5! After almost every meal she wanted to eat again! It's like she has a hole in her stomach. :lol: Her mood has been affectionate and happy as well.

We finally have a mostly sunny day! Yay! I have to run to the vet to get her treats. (about 45 minutes away) so will get ready to do that now and will play it by ear from there.

Ann, I saw your post on yesterday's condo. Sorry I confused you. I was replying to another post and did not have this condo up yet since Racci's AMPS wasn't done yet. I'm using the Purina DM dry for her treats. She loves them and instead of using them as a meal, I give a few one at a time as if they were treats when she is getting meds and tests. It doesn't seem to raise her bg's like others do and she won't eat any of the low carb treats that everyone else seems to use.

I hope all cats and humans in LL are feeling well or better today and send well wishes to those who need them!

Hi guys .. this is a wonderful condo for racci! And such a nice start to the day as well .. I'm glad you have found some "treats" that do not raise racci's BG's and that she is happy eating .. I hope you guys have a great day!

Thank you. I would have liked to find her something different just because these are hard to get since I either have to get them at the vet or online and they're expensive. But then again I guess if you add up all the small bags of other treats they probably come to more than the big bags of DM money wise and everything else I've tried raises her BG. I've been giving them to her this way for so long that she doesn't think of them as a meal anymore but just as a treat. :lol:

Well, Racci must have been reading your posts while I was gone. I got back from the vet getting her treats, was back by her 3.5 and she had already dove down to 35 and was sitting in front of her spot waiting to be fed. As soon as she saw me she put up a squawk and yelled at me for going out without waiting to feed her first! It doesn't matter that she had already eaten umpteen times and was sleeping. :lol:

I guess I'll move her dose another fraction down if she's still low with her treats now that she has them again. Maybe she'll hold the decrease this time.

I loaded her with carbs trying to get her out of the danger zone quickly this time as an experiment and gave a little honey, hc and lc. The only problem is that I was so tired from being up last night that I fell asleep! So now I don't know how quickly it brought her up or if it stayed constant or went back and forth. What a drag! I'm glad I did it though. At least she was safe while I wass sleeping!

Hi Melanie, I thought I was on the day before's condo. :lol: I used to have a bag of the same, and Mags loved it. I used it when I needed to get eher bg up! Yikes with the 35 and congrats on the reducie! :mrgreen:

Great Catch and you did well!! I use MC to bring Moonie up sometimes in combination with temptations(like 3-5 at a time) and it works really well.. BTW a 30's number is an Automatic Dose Reduction ....

Hi Ann!

You did! :lol: I just answered you on this one.

Racci used to eat the DM before I switched her to canned food so I just let her have the leftovers as treats and it worked out fine. When she needs to raise her bg I just give more of them but if it's just a normal day she gets them one at a time as a treat when I test or give meds or brush her and it barely affects her if I only give a few. Still, I wish I could get her to eat some lo carb treats for when she's high.

Thanks Melissa! The only problem is that she never holds it at this level. I have to shave her dose instead of taking .25 and even then she may not be able to keep the reduction. I'm going to give it another try if I can in the morning. She's still practicing diving tonight. :lol: It's been a long time since Racci had a yellow! That's from the honey. TTYL
