Ut-oh! Kinger's AMPS are HI. Stress catching up from the vet yesterday?

I think I found the cause. DH fed him the Hills M/D last night. Those other cans are going in the trash!

If you got the Hills from the vet you can take them back and say Klinger won't eat it and they will give you your money back.
The carb high will wear off.
Hang in there.

Depending on their health problems sometimes they do need other foods and you just have to live with higher insulin doses in consequence. I'd certainly explore all the options though before concluding that, and definitely get your $$$ back on the M/D. Or if you don't want to return it, there's probably a shelter that could take the donation... here there is a box at Petco where you can drop off anything like that for the area no-kill shelter. That's usually what I do with the backfire foods, since I have a bad habit of tossing receipts (though you probably wouldn't need that for the vets of course).

Just wanted to double check you test for ketones daily? With #s like this, I'd be sure to be doing that if you aren't already....

+8 and he's back in the pink. woo-hoo! I only have 3 cans left, so I'll either donate it (great idea!) or keep it in case he goes hypo because apparently this sends his BG skyrocketing. ohmygod_smile
I have been trying to test his keytone's, but I still haven't been able to catch him in the act. I'll have to do a better job at watching him.
Maybe I'll have to get another box and put it on the main floor so I can catch him more easily.
