I don't post here much anymore, but for any of you who might remember us from the old days ... I lost Chip today.

Health post: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=51550

He was first diagnosed with FD in early 2005 and was a poster child for carb sensitivity ... and the wonders that a high-protein, low-carb canned food diet could do. In the end, it wasn't the diabetes that took him -- it was his other medical issues (most likely cancer).

After two diabetics and years of injections, I now join the Club of those who rotely head to the fridge to pull out the insulin ... only to remember that there's no one to give a shot to. Strange feeling. I suppose it'll be awhile before I can walk past the Wal-Mart pharmacy without automatically veering off to buy insulin syringes.

Fly Free, Chip.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I read your condo, and you did everything possible to help Chip, and he was ready to say so long for now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and also to "Dunker," his young girlfriend civvie. You may find that Dunker will really warm up to you with Chip gone, as she's really going to miss him. I had a similar situation with Maggie when my 16 year old kitty crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs.

JL, I'm so sorry for your loss. You two have had quite a journey. I hope your heart will be at peace knowing you did all you could including making the hardest decision on his behalf. ((( JL )))

Chip had the very best care and the bond between an involved feline diabetic care giver and their cat should never be taken lightly or dismissed. The bond is a testament of love between the two and to life in general.

Land softly at the bridge Chip.

(((((((JL)))))))) I am so sorry. I wish none of us knew the pain that you are feeling right now. What brings me comfort and hopefully brings you comfort is that Chip was meant to be yours. He takes all the love you showered on him with him. And that he will be with you in spirit always.

Sending you big hugs.

((((JL)))))
It is always heartbreaking to make the decision to help a companion cross the Bridge. It is even more so when that cat has been your companion for almost 2 decades. There is so much that has been shared and so much of your lives are intertwined. Even as time was growing short, your Chippy knew how devoted you are.

Fly free Chip and land softly.

Deeply sorry for your loss! Losing our babies after we have cared for them for so long is indeed devastating,
but knowing how much they enriched our lives and how much love we received from them, that's the reward-
You gave Chip a great life!

I am so sorry to read about Chip's passing. What a journey you have been on, one filled with great memories. I hope that they will comfort you now. Fly free little one - you will be missed. rb_icon

JL, I am so sorry for your loss of a terrific kitty. Chip has earned his peace and you gave the ultimate gift of love, biding him farewell until you meet again.
Fly free, sweet Chip, on your beautiful new golden wings, and land softly at the Bridge.

In deep sympathy,
Ella & Rusty and Stu (GA)

(((JL))) We are so very sorry for your loss. What a wonderful bean you have been....to keep him happy all this time with all going on. I respect your decision so very much.....the greatest gift of love is to let him fly free now that his QOL has declinded. Sending you peace and comfort vines.

Fly free and land gently Chip.

Run free through the fields of Catnip Chip! wings_cat
You will be missed!
