This is PurrFace's 6th day on Lantus. Based on the numbers on his spreadsheet, should I be considering increasing his insulin by .25 or .50 starting tomorrow or stay at one for another week? He has vet visit at 9 a.m. 10/8/12. Can see better results than Humulin N. Even with haunche back he's jumping up on things. He is also purring like he use to when named!

Re: PurrFace AMPS-380; +3.5-218 increase needed?

Yes his numbers do seem better on Lantus than with the Humilin N.
We often have people just starting off with Lantus to go 5 to 7 days on the same dose at first, just to get the shed built up and to see how the cat is reacting. I personally, would like to see more data, before advising on increasing the dose.
Lets see what others have to say.

I plan on getting 4 - 5 more BG readings today. Is that enough? His Keytone test have been negative. Thank you for your help.

A few today, and a couple around nadir tonight, would be good to have. The more data you have, the more we can see the trends, to help you.

Hi,
I haven't posted yet in your condo. Thought I'd come see how it was going.
I see red tonite. ( it's only a good color in my kitchen, but not on PurrFace )
Come down from there, PurrFace...

If you are interested in making a fancy link... I copied this from someone else telling how to do it.
Tomorrow you will want to link today's condo to your new post, helps those advising to see history.

The way you make a fancy link is as follows:
• copy the location of the link from the top of your browser
• then, open a post and above the text box are button. Click on the button with URL inside;
• the following will be inserted at your cursor: .
• inside the first bracket, insert an = sign and then paste the location information of your link. It will look something like ;
• in between the two sets of brackets, type what you want to call the link. It will look something like this: [url=the http:// location of Reuben's condo from yesterday]Reuben's condo
