Good morning everyone! Well, it is cycle 2 for Smokey on 2U and his numbers are lovely compared to where they were. I'm going to give his ears a rest and check at +4. His nadir is usually right around +6. I'll be watching! I've got high carb gravy ready but I don't think we'll need it. I'll keep it updated!

that's the best preshot # smokey's had in a while. he must've needed that little bit of increase in the insulin. i hope this brings him down nicely as his body gets used to the new dose.

+4 is 190- a real reading this time!!! Yay for the increase!

Sienne- when I said "real reading" I had in mind the false 136 we had a few days ago due to not enough blood in the strip- I KNOW this one had enough blood and it is a "true blue"!!! You made me chuckle!

I'd hoped to get a +6 reading but Smokey was not having it. I had been out of the apt and stopped back at 1:30 to get the reading and Smokey wasn't happy that I popped in just to stick him! I've been really trying NOT to chase him when I have to test or shoot and allow him to come to me. I don't want this to become a fight. I figured that since his +4 was in the high blues and that he doesn't seem to drop fast that it would be OK. His +8 was 202 so I'm betting that he didn't drop to less than 160-150. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be more agreeable to me getting a +6 reading in addition to the others. Also, at that point we will be on cycle 4 and I should have a better idea of what 2U is going to do.

I'm trying to savor this feeling as I'm guessing that there will be more occasions for patience pants but I'm happy that we are making progress!!!
 
Smokey is looking so good! You are doing a great job with him. He'll forgive you for the pokes. Tarragon used to run. Now he sits and purrs while I do it. Someone told me in the beginning that we would get to that point and I thought "ya right.". Keep doing what you are doing. It's definitely working!! :-D Have a great weekend!
