Good Morning All,
Sure would like to control these pink preshots. Am I missing something? I leave a snack out overnight; have no idea when he eats it.
He was unusually chipper, this morning. He sniffed the full length of the screening on the porch, talking the whole time. I wonder what was out there last night, so interesting, that he had to talk to himself about it.
Whole can FF in 2 installments. Drink at sink. Active, not napping yet.

I need to go to DD's for afternoon to petsit. Will wait to make sure Checkers isn't crashing first.
Well update SS and check condos from her highspeed.....Yay.

Re: 9/3 Checkers~amps/351

Hey Checkers! What's up dude? Wasn't the beach bonfire the best! I was so glad to see you there. Thanks with all the help with all that grillin' stuff - I couldn't have done it without you. See you later! ~ Mannie

well here ya on the pink preshots - it was Mannie's forte there for a while, and we still get them often enough. I have found that the +9 snack/food does make a big difference. Sounds like you already do that?

Checkers: Mannie says the challenge is on: yellow floor by the end of the AM cycle. He says you can do it!

Re: 9/3 Checkers~amps/351

We all hate those pink PSs! I hope Checkers finds his way down to the blue floor again today. Have fun pet sitting!

I don't have to go to DD's until a bit later. I'm wondering though, what do people do, when their cat is dropping too quickly, and yes, cat is being fed, but.......if one has something like a doctor appt., that cannot be resceduled any time soon, or is too important to put off.....what do they do? Feed HC, just in case?

It would be nice to have a spot on Lantus forum, to pose general question that may not be seen in our condo. We can't possibly visit all condos.
Has that been discussed and I don't know it?
Yes, I know it can be put on Health, but not all Lantus users go there.

Re: 9/3 Checkers~amps/351..280+1.5...151+3

I hate those pinks too.
At least Checkers is already in the blues.
I think the only thing to due if a cat drops to fast is to feed. Hopefully someone will come along with better advice

hey checkers ... you were in the pink this morning and so was mocha .. but now you have moved down to the pretty blues and mocha is stuck near the ceiling of the yellow floor .. You should have taken her with you!

Re: 9/3 Checkers~..280+1.5...151+3...134+4

Hi Barb - Jill also posted one on my condo some time ago, wish I could remember when, but it too is a good bit of info.

Very nice numbers for Checkers today!

Re: 9/3 Checkers~..280+1.5...151+3...134+4

Well, Checkers is looking good again today Barb...
Hope you got all the information about feeding from that excellent post by Jill that Ann linked...

Bounces are to be expected after some low numbers. There isn't too much we can do except to hope they aren't too high and don't last too long. One thing about the night time snack though...if he eats it at +8/9 that is good but if it is down and he eats it later then it is too close to the AMPS. It is ideal if they eat and it is taken up after the snack. So, if Checkers is eating later on, like at +11, then the AMPS will be a bit higher reflecting the food spike. But he is clearing the bounces very nicely, no?

Checkers...
We are all hanging out at the beach again today...
Come on down!

Pat, that's what I've been wondering, if he is eating at +11.
Ann, thank you; actually I did bookmark that. It's on my desktop. I think I didn't word my question exactly.

Another high pmps. He eats supper at +10. That shouldn't be a food spike.

Have a good night, All. :-D

Barb --

If you don't mind my asking, why are you feeding dinner at +10? Most of us test, feed, then shoot so at about the time Lantus is kicking in, you know food is on board. The faster acting types of insulin are the ones where you need to feed well before you shoot.

If you have a general question, it's fine to open a condo to ask that question. For example, LB's bean just asked a question about antibiotics.

Sienne, he gets his shot at 7:30 pm....I used to give dinner at that time.....test, feed, shoot.
But he is hungry long before that.
I've always given him snacks to tide him over until then, but then that will show as spike.
So lately I've been feeding in enough time, so his dinner doesn't affect preshot.

He still gets food Immediately after test, and before shot!

Actually, the new way isn't working, 'cause his preshot is always high anyway.
Mornings he eats just after test.....ya know......test, feed, shoot.
thank you for noticing and commenting. I apprediate it.

eta: I realize ecid, so deleted a request that you suggest a schedule for us.
