Good Evening L&LL,

I was out all day today hiking and climbing in the High Peaks, so Rusty and Edward held the fort. Rusty ate pretty well, but spent time looking and waiting for me to get home (very late afternoon: it was a strenuous day). This morning's shot was a "blood shot" (nicked a capillary), and I don't think there was much insulin in the syringe. I must work on getting Rusty's dose more accurate. I figure it is about 1/2 drop and it is impossible to measure with the calipers. Tomorrow afternoon, after I get home from a bike ride, I will try to work with some other syringes (I have about 5 boxes of different brands here). I may give up on the Monojects. If his dose were bigger, they would be OK.

Today we are remembering Stu. He joined the GAs at The Bridge on 28 Sept. 2010. Rest in peace, Mr. Cat. You are forever loved:

Stu is sadly missed, and will never be forgotten by his many friends here. This is such a memorable photo of him. What a handsome kitty he was. Sending hugs to you and Edward as you remember your beloved Stu.

Sorry I never "knew" Stu. He was one stunningly handsome cat. :bighug:

If the shot is "half a drop", have you tried the vacuum method - pushing the plunger, inserting into the cartridge and letting go to vacuum up one drop. Then squeeze out half of it. I found the BD's were at least pretty consistent on size of dose when I did that.

Thanks to you all for remembering with us. Linda (@Linda and Bear Man ), when Bear Man arrived at the Bridge Stu had only been there a few weeks and I remember when they got together at the bar of the Bridge cafe.

Thanks, Wendy. I'll try that. I have a box of BDs. This method wouldn't work with the Monojects because of the "cone".

It is so hard to believe that it has been seven years since they both left us. Of course Stu was there to greet Bear Man at the Bridge and show him the best spot to set up his bar stool. I'm sure they are there now, reminiscing about the old days.

Time flies so quickly doesn’t it? And our hearts never forget no matter how much time passes. What a handsome boy. Sending you hugs on this day of remembrance.:bighug:
