9/29 Asher amps 200, +7 77, +9 58, pmps 148

Good afternoon everyone :-D Happy Caturday!

Asher is on his 19th cycle of 3.75 units. We have held b/c we are getting greens here and there. We had some good numbers last night: +5 72 down to 63 at + 7 then back up again. I did not feed anything but his boiled chicken chunks after testing.

Now today we had decent amps and a normal +4 of 146, but at +9 the gray boy has dropped to 58. We will be watching carefully to see if he hits 40 for a reduction. Odd it seems his nadir is shifting later. Do you guys see this with Lantus?

And naturally he is low late in the day and we have dinner plans with friends in from California, so we should be out of the house tonight. I guess we’ll see what his numbers are at pmps. I can always feed a higher carb food or mix some in.

Any suggestions?

Hi Donna. Please add Asher's name in the subject line of your first post.

He'll probably start rising anytime now. Maybe he has quite a bit of shed built up from this dose and that's why the later nadir today, or maybe it's because he knows you have plans to go out.

Let's see what his PMPS is before we decide on what carb percent to leave out for him.

We are back up to 72 at +10 now.

Tom just said to me “plenty of time to go back to 300 by pmps”...always a wise guy ohmygod_smile

I'd bet Asher knows of your evening plans and is trying to thwart them...you know how these silly kitties are! :lol:

Hi Donna

Nadirs can and frequently do shift. That's why most of us don't get too fixated on when the nadir is. I know it makes it a little challenging because you think they should be headed up when they are still headed down.

He's looking great...love his green!!

pmps is 148 so I am thinkin since we probably wont be home until + 5 or so, we should add some high carb to his food and make it more of a mid carb mix.

Any thoughts in the next few minutes?
 
If we are going to go to this dinner, we should leave right after we shoot unfortunately.....
 
Your call. Seems to be if he's come up that much, he's probably going to continue up before he comes back down but there aren't any guarantees.

Darn...and I just told Wendy I was glad my crystal ball was working. :lol: :lol: It's a little hazy here.

While I do think his pattern is to come up once he's started the rise, you never know when they might throw a curve ball. You need to be able to do whatever makes you feel comfortable while you're gone. If giving him MC, knowing he might be higher than you'd like...BUT SAFE...when you get home, allows you to enjoy the evening, then do it. It's one cycle. But don't let yourself sit and worry the whole time you are gone.
 
I'm thinking since he went up 90 points in the last 3 hours and you will be feeding him and onset isn't until around +2, so he should be rising more, that the most you would want to leave out is some LC with maybe a little topping of MC.
What do you think Marje?
 
I think he would be ok if we fed his regular food, but I would like to not worry all night, which I am really good at!!! nailbite_smile
So I think I am going to put a small amount of the higher carb food into his regular food. And we will test as soon as we get home obviously.

I think the mc recipe is a good idea. Go out and have a relaxing dinner. Have a yingling for me! I'm working...

Yeah Dyana, I won’t put in much higher carb food, just a forkfull in his regular food. Don’t want him to go sky high either.
 
I agree with Dyana. I think he will be fine with LC but, again, you need to feel you can go out and not worry. If you want to mix it, that would be fine.

Have a great evening. And yes...test as soon as you walk in. Oh...and I would be sure he cleans his plate before you leave and then leave some LC out.
 
I have never known Asher to not clean his plate. And try to clean his brother’s too! :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Hi late night folk.

We got home to a 115 tonight, so I was happy with that.

I think he might go a bit lower, so I will test at least once more just to see, but the more carbs at dinner gave me peace of mind.
