I think we are going to get through a whole half can of ziwi within two cycles! Minus whatever little bits spilt, that should mean she gets at least 100 calories for the day. (A whole can of ziwi lamb is 245 for 6.5oz.) That’s still less than what she needs but it’s maybe 70% of a day’s calories. I’ll take it! This time with her half can I blended I added Cosequin and d-mannose so she is getting her supplements again.

I syringed about a tablespoon food earlier, right after +5.5 where she had come down to 372.
I think her subq fluids earlier helped as she is perked up somewhat and is slightly more mobile. She can still hardly walk and is very weak and worn out fast.

Here I found a picture of Alice when she was a new little one. Maybe 3 months old here? :D
In the background of the full photo (I cropped my baby face out of this :p ) there is a landline phone up on the wall and this was taken with a disposable film camera. :joyful:

Such a cutie pie!! You shouldn't have cropped your your lovely face OR that landline phone! We all love the nostalgia of it I'm sure!! :)

So not posting my face with it has a little to do with internet safety as well. I think the posts on the ISGs are only viewable if you have an FDMB account? But that doesn’t make them much more secure. I would have otherwise. I always looked young for my age so I’m about twenty here and I look like.... a 14 year old or something. :p

I kept that landline for so many years behind what made sense. That one in the photo was cordless, but I still have one of those old corded phones with the clear plastic so you can see inside the phone and see the electronic parts. I thought those were so so cool in the nineties. Haha. :D

My favorite part on the nostalgia is the fact this was taken with a disposable film camera!!! Less than twenty years later and they are completely obsolete!

PMPS is 370.
Syringed 12mL ziwi (w d-mannose and Cosequin mixed in), followed by aluminum hydroxide for phosphorous binder.

During preshot fast while I was out of the room she had a bowel movement. The color is not dark enough. The consistency was soft but not like the diarrhea the other day. Some improvement but definitely not normal stool yet, even for her.

How much do you spend on probiotics? I need to order something on amazon prime and just get it here and get it started. But every time I look at them my brain sort of freezes up. Everything is either not feeling cost-effective enough or I don’t know if it is good enough quality or it’s just too much money at once for the the product even if it is that way because it’s a good deal. I’m looking at being able to spare $10-20 and that’s still asking a lot out of my budget. It needs to be enough to last at least for a month for $10... is there anything out there within those parameters?

Question for subq fluids timing!
I was thinking maybe like 4-5am next because she goes to the vet at 9am and they need her bladder full enough to get urine from it for culture. But if she could have it earlier like in an hour, that’s more time for her to feel better with more fluids! So I can’t decide to wait or do earlier.

I feel like even just the food and fluids are helping her a fair bit. I’m nervous to see what her bloodwork is tomorrow. :nailbiting: If her kidneys are worse... :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

This is what I buy: https://smile.amazon.com/NOW-Saccha...ules/dp/B0053W995W/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20
It comes in capsules. I bought some smaller capsules and divided it up into them and give it that way.

I was reading about some kidney failure stuff:
“Azodyl is a probiotic that is meant to help rid the body of urea (blood urea nitrogen also known as BUN on the blood chemistry test) and creatinine which would otherwise recirculate and again be filtered through the kidneys. By ridding the body of some of these toxins it will make your pet feel better, eat better, and have an overall better quality of life.“

Is this a thing people use?

I don't know what it tastes like. This link should have information on dosing.

Haha no I suppose you would not.
No, I mean I just learned recently that Cerenia and ondansetron both taste awful to cats and that explains why those pills are so much trickier and always seem to bother her. :p and now I rush much faster to get the follow up water going.

thanks, Carla! Good morning! :)
