Continued prayers, healing thoughts, and big hugs to Marje, Mike, Gracie, Tobey, and Gus.

After a nice run of green numbers, Simon is higher this morning. I switched Simon to Special Diet Friskies Turkey yesterday because he was refusing to eat FF chicken. I have been feeding him the FF chicken for the last week or so and he finally got sick of it. Unfortunately, the Friskies seems to have caused him to go higher. This morning, I fed him Wellness Chicken and he did eat it, unlike the last time I gave it to him. Of course, after a few meals of the Wellness, he will stop eating it. I have also noticed more scratching since I fed the Friskies Turkey so he might have an allergy to something in the food or turkey. Any ideas of what else I can feed Simon that is not Friskies turkey? He didn't like the EVO or Merrick.

I have off tomorrow and Friday so I am looking forward to having a four day weekend!

Re: 9/28 Simon AMPS 127

Hi guys .. sorry to see simon a little high this morning and I'm sorry to hear he is having such a rough go with his new fuds .. Do you think it is any turkey that he might have allergies to? We feed wal marts special kitty turkey and giblets ... but I know others feed special kitty super supper and their chicken flavors as well .. I hope you find something, I know this must be frustrating .. have a great day!

Re: 9/28 Simon AMPS 127

I've just started feeding my cats natural balance limited ingredient cat food and they've taken to it well. I've only seen 3 flavours, venison, duck and salmon. You might want to give it a try and see if Simon takes to it. Tray's fave is the duck flavour.

Hope you guys have a wonderful day and enjoy your extra long weekend!

Re: 9/28 Simon AMPS 127

I must caution you about feeding the Special Diet Friskies, especially long term. I think its for UTI patients only (I remember feeding Blackie's son, Jr. Mint that because he did have a UTI problem). I'm not sure if this is 100% true, however, feeding a special diet such as that to a non-UTI patient may cause them to have UTI issues in the future. Like I said, I'm not sure if that's 100% true, but it's better to err on the side of caution just in case. I also think that its on the label somewhere, unless they've changed the label.

Otherwise, Simon is looking good these days! Have a good day! :-D

Re: 9/28 Simon AMPS 127 +10 76

I didn't get a chance to come home for lunch today. Simon at +10 is 76 so I'm wondering if he went lower during the lunch hour. He didn't greet me like he usually does when I come home so not sure what that is about.

Devon, thanks for the info on Special Kitty. I just keep avoiding Walmart because I hate the parking but since I have a few days off the next couple of days, I am going to stop by and pick up some Special Kitty.

Iorwen, where do you buy the Natural Balance food? I'll google it so hopefully I can find it somewhere near me. Simon loves the duck pill pockets so maybe he will like the duck flavored food.

Angela, I thought the Special Diet Friskies would be better for Simon (what do i know!). I don't give it to him that much and now that I know his bg goes higher with it, I'll try to avoid it altogether.

Great evening numbers for Simon!!!! I feed Gus (and fed Teddi) Natural Balance...they also liked the Indoor Cat, ultra, the ocean fish (altho not sure if Simon is allergic to fish), chicken and liver, etc BUT I have no idea what the % calories from carbs are on those. They seem pretty palatable.

I hope Cleo is doing well and you've been able to address her nausea. Last I read you were going to try to give the pepcid later at night or cut the zantac into smaller pieces.

(((Georgia))) thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers for our Teddi. It means so very much to us.
