Yesterday started at pink, went to blue, then up to red. It was also the 6th day at this dose without green, so up the dose ladder we went this morning. I really want to see green again. That red last night might have had a bit of bread influencing it, but no matter, the previous cycles weren't where I want her to be.

Last night Neko chased, and almost caught a squirrel from my garden. Today I discovered what a good job Neko was doing. The squirrel had been trying to steal my baby eggplants. Two are off the plant with small chew marks. I hope they can still be used with some pruning. Somehow the threat of Neko doesn't seem to keep the squirrels from harvesting my garden. :lol: A couple of days ago one had marched up the stairs to the deck and was checking out my jalapeno peppers beside the solarium. Theo was going crazy on the other side of the glass. Just one day, I'd like those squirrels to try the hot peppers! :lol:

Neko seems to be getting over the reds. She really isn't happy in those numbers but since coming down has had a good lie down in the grass after a yard patrol and is back settled in the basket in the solarium - the warmest place in the house.

That is some range going down Neko. Can we get rid of that front number and just hang out with the other two?
Sure hope you can get the go from the new juice to do that.

We have brown squirrels which the outdoor cat)diamond) has killed but he never gets those black and white Abert squirrels. I think they are really mean and fierce and dumb as a stump. For some reason, Diamond doesn't even try to get those....
I like the idea of getting them to eat peppers!!

Good luck with the new dose. It looks like you're already getting some good results. What a good girl Neko is chasing the squirrels from your garden.

The extra juice seems to have worked! Either that or she was giving me the highs before the lows. Doesn't matter which, I'll take it! :mrgreen:

@Rhiannon - I'd love to get rid of that first number. But with rainbow kitty, you never know where she is going with a red start. The squirrel was one of the European grays. They are not native to here and taking over from the native Douglas squirrels so I'm not as fond of them. Especially when they go after my produce. :evil:

@Carla - The new dose is working fast and seems to be just what she needed. The squirrels are cocky. Once I saw one lunge at her and she actually jumped back. Then it ran up a tree and taunted her.

LOL! Leo isn't allowed to go out, but we have lots of squirrels in the back yard and they drive him nuts! What is it about squirrels???

Rainbow kitty! I hope the new dose works - isn't it frustrating!?!

Hi Wendy, I think Neko is working that dose just fine with that nice green at +8! :mrgreen: That's so nice of Neko to play security garden patrol and chase the squirrel away from the baby eggplant. :-D Thanks for visiting us earlier, and I had to laugh about the California girls showing off their shaved bellys. Neko, keep up that garden patrol, good job and work the juice.

Neko had a nice little surf in the 80's late in her cycle. For the record, this is the lowest PS I've ever shot. I've always told myself I would pause if I got a green PS, but I knew Neko was rising and it's still technically blue. :lol: Still, might be time to put on the ~O) ~O) and I might not wait until +3 like I normally do for the next test.

@Lisa - I started with Neko as an indoor kitty, but when the neighbour cats came over and peered in the glass wanting to play, Neko went crazy. And then she started peeing on the bed, but waiting until we got home from work so we could see it. She made her statement, she is now allowed out during the day when I am home. And squirrels, I've heard them called "rats with a cute tail" or "rats with good PR", in either case rats are fair game for cats. :lol: This dose does seem to be working! Might be a late night for me too.

@Ann - as ordered, Neko is working that juice just fine. She was feeling good before dinner, chasing bugs in the yard and I had to haul her in when it started getting towards dark. Too many bad critters out here at night.

Now I remember why I seldom get +2's for Neko. Her onset seems to be a bit later and I've even seen her go up from PS to +3 and then turn it around and dive down.

@Ella - this dose seems to be working. Hopefully Rusty will be in his normal lower numbers soon.

@Helen - not quite a green PS, but very close. I'll know in an hour or two what she's planning on tonight.

@Rhiannon - I keep trying to show Neko what Shadow's condo looks like, but she'd rather hang in the kitchen hoping for more food. Maybe green later.

Wow..what a nice bounce clearing day for Neko! Hope she doesn't come back down too low tonight.

You are right...it's probably high before the break...it might take another cycle or so to see the difference with the extra insulin.

If you've got some LC or MC (or a mix of both) you could give her, a tsp or so, I think you should be ok to give her more than half an hour. Looking at the SS, she *has* come up nicely from HC when you've given it, even if she's not been in the 40s this "early" in the cycle in the past weeks. With a spot of LC/MC, maybe she can be coaxed to surf a bit. If you're comfortable with it, I think you can check in an hour.

What do YOU think (on food and half hour vs. hour)? :smile:

Ah ok, about the Japanese - I figured because of her name, you probably spoke it! I also only speak very little, from when I lived in Tokyo.

Since Neko is an acrocat, her pancreas works fine. Giving her LC may encourage it to kick in and take her down more. I'm thinking a bit more HC and wait until +6.

Yes, I've moved a lot. My father was a diplomat so we moved to a new country every 3-4 years.

Sorry about suggesting LC - I need to learn more about giving input for acrocats!!

This time all Neko got was freeze dried chicken. I think I'll do another test in an hour and see if that's it. When Neko starts low, her nadir is much earlier (4.5-5.5) than if she starts high.

No problem on the acrocat thing Jane, there are less of us around and not nearly the body of knowledge about what to do. I've done experiments with Neko and found she can surf just fine on freeze dried chicken or salmon. When I did the same thing with MC, I got the same results. But that was during the day when I was up more and able to monitor. Lately HC has brought her up nicely, but right after SRT there were a couple of times when I was working hard to keep her up with HC.

Interesting on the diplomat upbringing. Hard to put down roots but very educational living all those places.

Here's hoping I can get some sleep this time, instead of having a purring cat (Theo) on my shoulder, kneading my neck and licking my face.

Thanks for not wet-noodling me, Wendy :lol: I'm going to make more of an effort to read up on the acrokitties and the theory! Great (+6). I'll still be around for the (+7) :smile:

I think that about does it for the night. Hope she doesn't rocket up too high. In retrospect I might not have needed that last 1 tsp of HC.

Thanks for hanging around with me Jane. It's nice to know there is someone around to bounce questions/ideas to. Before Neko's Dx as an acrocat, I used to give her LC/MC when she was low, and it didn't make that much difference. I'm just being more cautious now. There's a lot of "lore" about acrocats and surprisingly little research.
 
Nice greens Neko!

Our cats are strictly indoors. We live right in the city and have a bird feeder close to the back french doors. The cats have some seats there and we call it the cat entertainment centre :-D
They like watching the birds but LOVE the squirrels. I always wonder what they would do if they could actually get close enough to catch them. They probably would not know WHAT to do :lol:

HI Wendy,

I read a bit on Acrocats since I didn't know anything, and was wondering if you would share a little bit of the lore. Neko is a BEAUTIFUL kitty! (Edited because this bean didn't know that Neko was a girlcat!)
